“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.” - C. S. Lewis
I think that the speaker, C. S. Lewis, means that life is a ride. Life is a ride and literature doesn't just tell you whats going on. It adds to the experience. And when your life runs dry literature refreshes it.
This quote applies to my book a little, by telling the travels of three little hobbits and their perils. I personally do not think that hobbits are real and do not think they would add to reality because they try to stay hidden from humans. It irrigates life by giving me something to do after i finish my PSSA test
